John "PAPA JOHN" Strickland John Bert Strickland, surrounded by loving family and friends, peacefully released his spirit to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father on December 14th, 2011. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, he faithfully raised his Family in Akron, Ohio. John dedicated himself to coaching and youth ministry at Living Word Assembly. Left to cherish his legacy, beloved wife Susan, children Michael (Vesna) Gaugler , Matthew(Laura) Gaugler , and Leah Strickland; and 8 adored grandchildren.
