Obituary of Julia K. Compan

Julia K. Compan (nee Kunchak), 90, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011. She was born in Akron and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Compan was a teacher and retired from the Akron Public School System. Prior to teaching she worked for the Federal Government. She graduated from the Old East High School Class of January 1940. She put herself through college nights and summers for 20 years to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Akron. She had been a resident of Heather Knoll and Rockynol, special thanks to them for their help and kindness and also to Dr. Victor Kopyev for being so human. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Julia (Sec) Kunchak; brother, Paul Kunchak, Jr.; and sister, Kathryn K. Kovac. She is survived by her son, Garry P. Compan. Private services will take place. Pastor Landis Coffman officiating. Interment at East Akron Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
