Obituary of Bertha Wray

Bertha Wray, 95, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011. Bertha was born February 20, 1916 to Roy and Flora (Minns) Mercer in Akron and had been an Akron resident her entire life. Bert was a homemaker, Mom and Grandma to her beloved children and grandchildren, who always knew where to get a good meal. She will be fondly remembered for always being in her kitchen. She baked great cookies. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Naymon in 1998 and her sister Thelma Thornton. She will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Tom Nikola; grandchildren Thomas Nikola and Kelli (Brian) Hamilton; great grandchildren Ross and Ava Hamilton; special cousin Ruth Wray. Thank you to the Staffs of Pebble Creek and Barberton Hospice for their care of Bertha. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
