Obituary of Sherry Gerace
Sherry Gerace, 86, passed away on Friday, November 4, in Richfield.
Born in Pine Bluff, AK on November 21, 1924 to the late Orvie & Clara Rudge, Sherry moved to the Cleveland area in 1946. An accomplished singer, Sherry toured with the USO during WWII and performed with such legends as Bob Hope, Artie Shaw, and Tex Beneke, as well as singing at the White House for President Roosevelt.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her son Dennis and her sister Marguerite Foti. She is survived by her sons Peter & Phillip (Judy) Gerace; grandchildren David (Allison) Gerace, Diane (Steve Herrick) Burton, Darlene (Jun) Cayatano, Ryan Gerace, & Tyler Gerace; brother Paul (Merna) Uccello & sisters Edith (Jimmie) Munro & Helen LeBlanc.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls), with a funeral service immediately following at 8:00 pm. A Private interment will take place at Chestnut Hill Memorial Gardens.
