Obituary of Stephanie Kostich

Stephanie Kostich, 65, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Visiting Nurse Service Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1949. She was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church and enjoyed antiques and spending time with her family. Special thanks to the caring staff of Visiting Nurse Service Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ewgenija Matczyszyn in 2005; father, Stanislaw Matczyszyn in 1991; and sister, Katherina Matczyszyn in 1951. She leaves her husband of 38 years, Thomas Kostich; sons, Michael (Jenny) Evans and Brian Kostich; brother, Myron (Debra) Matczyszyn; brothers-in-law, Gus (Beverly) Kostich and Bill (Maryann) Kostich; sisters, Alicia (Bill) Douglas, Linda Matczyszyn and Annie (Mark) Pound; sister-in-law, Catherine Kostich; granddaughter, Olivia Kostich; aunt, Kateryna Schmeida; cousins, Peter (Kathy) Schmeida, Mary Schmeida and Mikola (Maria) Sarachman; nieces, Jacqueline (James) Farrance and Teresa Kostich; and nephews, Jeffrey (Kathy) Kostich, Timothy (Kelly) Kostich, Mark (Lisa) Kostich, William Kostich and David (Joni) Kostich. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron with Divine Liturgy to follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church. Fr. Claudio Melnicki officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home where a Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301.
