Obituary of Helen Rajniak

Helen Rajniak Helen Rajniak, 94, passed away at The Merriman on Friday, October 21, 2011. She was born on August 20, 1917 to the late Katarina (Fados) & Andrew Somody in Akron, Ohio and spent most of her life in this area. She retired from the Akron Board of Education. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Andrew, her parents and her brother Andrew. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Clayton) Goldsmith, and son Paul Rajniak; grandchildren Deborah Goldsmith-Toth, Carol (Steven) Groves, and Andrea Rajniak; great grandchildren, Zack, Elizabeth, Brian, Paul and Andrew; sisters Anne Mitchen, Margaret (John) Miskalo and brother Gerald (Dorothy) Somody; plus many nieces and nephews. Our family extends gratitude to the staff, nurses, workers and all those associated with "The Merriman." Their hard work, kindness and compassion has been noticed and appreciated. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 12 P.M. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main Street., Akron, Ohio 44301. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling hours will be one hour before the funeral service on Monday. In lieu of flowers you may make donations to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 5451 S.
