Obituary of Gary P. Shrader
Gary P. Shrader (age 57) died, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from complications of B-Cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia, diagnosed just two months ago.
Gary was born in Akron on January 2, 1954, and has resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 32 years. He attended St. Martha's Grade School, graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in 1972, and obtained his degree in Data Processing from the University of Akron in 1974.
Gary worked at FirstMerit Bank starting in 1975 as a check sorter, and resigned from their Data Processing Center in 1997 as a Sr. Vice-President and member of the Fir Nat Club. He worked from 1997 to the present at Charles Schwab & Co. in Richfield, Ohio, where he was Sr. Vice-President of Schwab Technology Services and responsible for other offices in San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, Charlotte, Austin, and Chicago.
He will be fondly remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, wisdom, and leadership. Memories of time spent with Gary will not soon be forgotten by his many friends and relatives.
There was nothing Gary loved more than playing a round of golf, watching football, listening to good music, and enjoying Saturday night dinners with his wife, daughters and 'sons'.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Beatrice Shrader, and his father-in-law, Martin Frahlich. He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Mary "Kay" (Frahlich); cherished daughters, Jill (Jake) Sadon and Karen (Kevin) Jakubczak; mother, Eileen (Gaffney) Shrader; mother-in-law, Marjorie (Ringlein) Frahlich; brothers-in-law, John (Terri) Frahlich and Steve (Holly) Frahlich; sister-in-law, Linda (Phil) Rhodes; nieces and nephews, Stephen (Courtney), Doug, Kelly, Kristen, Alexandria, and Mitchel; and life-long buddies, Bill, Mark, Eddie and Tim.
