Obituary of Mary Ellen Walter

Mary Ellen Walter, 83, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. She was born in Lakewood, Ohio and was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Sewing Club and Bible Study Group. Mrs. Walter was a retired teacher with the Lakewood and Parma School Systems and she enjoyed gardening. Special thank you to the Hospice Care Center of Fairlawn. She was preceded in death by parents, Moskos and Irene (Foscolos) Moskey; and husband, Louis. She is survived by her children, Despina (Tim) Adams, George (Julie) Walter and Irene (Ed) Carlile; grandchildren, Georgia and Sophia Carlile, Ginger Adams and Samantha Warstler; and many good friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Akron where Mary Ellen will lie in state one hour prior to service. Fr. Jerry Hall officiating. Interment at St. Theodosius Cemetery in Cleveland. The family will receive friends Monday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where a Trisagion service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund in Akron.
