Obituary of Joseph J. Catalano

Joseph J. Catalano, 94, passed away on December 19, at the Chapel Hill Community in Canal Fulton. Born in Akron on June 4, 1918 to the late Leonardo and Marguerita Catalano, Joe had been a lifetime resident. He was a 1936 graduate of Akron Central High School. Joe retired after 37 years from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #3410. Joe loved to draw and go dancing with his wife & friends. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister Anna Green. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary; children Karen Grable of Akron & Keith (Peggy) Hoye of Medina; grandchildren Tony (Brooke) & Matthew (Tina) Grable. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-6 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ralph Thomas on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
