Obituary of Pearl May Mitchin
Pearl May Mitchin, 92, passed away on October 7, 2011.
She was born in Waterford, Ohio on October 2, 1919, but later moved to Akron, where she worked at Goodrich during WWII.
Pearl was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 61 years. She proudly worked for 15 years in the St. Francis school Cafeteria and for many additional years as a volunteer in the school. Pearl was a member of the Church Ladies Guild. She prayed the Rosary devoutly.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Michael, as well as 7 brothers & 1 sister.. She is survived by her children Michaeleen (Jerry) Lordi, Robert (Maggie) Mitchin, and Christine (Marty) Dubovec; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
Pearl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was beautiful inside and out. She will be greatly missed. Special thanks is given to all of the staff, nurses, and doctors from Summa Hospice at Barberton Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated by Fr. David Bline & Fr. Anthony Susso on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. Interment will take place on Wednesday at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Donation's in Pearl's memory may be made to St. Francis de Sales School 4009 Manchester Rd. Akron, OH 44319.
