Obituary of Mitzi Conobre

Mitzi Conobre, 86, died Monday, September 26, 2011 after a lengthy period of declining health. Except for a two year fling in Florida in her early twenties, Akron was Mitzi's home. She held a variety of jobs in her early years from waitressing to factory work before employment with Parker-Hannifin, from which she retired. She was also a lifetime member of St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church. In retirement Mitzi devoted her time to helping out with her granddaughters by taking them to and from school and attending as many soccer games and school events as possible. They were her pride and joy and she reveled in being their "Baba." Preceded in death by her husband Steve in 1998, Mitzi is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pookie and Bruce Barnes, Paula and Tom Seibel; beloved granddaughters Nichole and Brittany Barnes; sister Anne Hrkman and her children, Milan, Michael and Stephanie. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
