Obituary of Ewdokia Zurowskyj
Ewdokia Zurowskyj, 90, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011.
She was born in Zaluzhe, Ukraine. After World War II she went to England and resided there until 1962 when she moved to Akron, Ohio with her husband and daughter. Mrs. Zurowskyj was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian National Women's League of America. She was employed by Thornton Taylors retiring in 1983.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stefan; brother, Petro; and sister, Olena. She is survived by her daughter, Oksana Zurowskyj; and several nephews in the Ukraine.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 9 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. and at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St. in Akron. Fr. Claudio Melnicki officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends TONIGHT, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301.
