Obituary of Dennis Stanec

Dennis Stanec Dennis Stanec, 66, of Sharon Center, Ohio was welcomed by the Lord September 3, 2011. Dennis was born in Akron, Ohio and was a Buchtel High School graduate, a past member of the University of Akron Rifle Team and a proud Medina County resident for over 30 years. Dennis was a retired member of IBEW Local 306, an avid sportsman, and enthusiastic coach and mentor to many, including current and former members of The Ashland Eagles Junior Rifle Club. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Correia) Stanec; brother, Stephen (Marie) Stanec of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; sons, Michael (Maggie), and Stephen (Andrea); daughter, Kathryn (Vance) Truman; and grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew, Emma, Annabelle, Cearra, Noah and Austin. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Mary (Olenick) Stanec of Akron, Ohio. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 South Main St. in Akron. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 260 Broad St., Wadsworth. PLEASE NOTE: PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH.
