Obituary of Barbara Ann Coleman

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Barbara A. Coleman, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Summa of Western Reserve Hospital. She was born in Akron, was a 60 year resident of Cuyahoga Falls and retired to Palm Coast, Florida. She was a graduate of Buchtel High School Class of 1945. During the early years, she was a homemaker and raised four daughters. She was a member of the Church of Our Savior, Jaycee Wives, Falls Civic Music, Little Guild and a six year leader with the Girl Scouts. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Coleman; and parents, Mildred and Howard Bittner. She is survived by daughters, Susan (William) Dale of Cuyahoga Falls, Deborah (George) Freiberg of Trenton, Michigan, Robin Coleman (Darrell Faulkner) of Reston, Virginia and Jane (Terry) Hiltner of Wadsworth; four granddaughters, Lori Dale, Sarah Worrall, Amy Crump and Katy Johnson; four grandsons, George Freiberg and Zach, Max and Jake Hiltner; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Abby and David Crump, Madison Johnson and Mason Hiltner; sister, Gloria (Pat) Williams of Deland, Florida; and two nieces. Last but not least, she is also survived by her dear friend, William A. Schenk of Bath; Florida friends; and old friends at Little Guild. Special thanks to the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living, Summa of Western Reserve Hospital and Hospice of Summa and Palliative Care. Cremation has taken place. There are no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to a favorite charity.
