Obituary of Anna J. Gryvnak
Anna (Shushura) Gryvnak, 98, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Mary Alzheimer Center.
She was born July 6, 1913 to John and Catherine (Sikula) Shushura in Elmhurst, PA and had been an area resident her entire life. She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and volunteered her time, talent and treasure by baking, cooking and helping with church events. She was a member of the Senior 'O' Club Chapter 20/32, Ladies Altar Aid Society and Blue Belles Seniors. She called Whispering Pines Village Assisted Living in Columbiana, OH home for seven years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alexis John Gryvnak in 1991; son David Alexis Gryvnak; sisters Mary Vronick Mazurik, Helen Wallace, Veronica Schneider, Julia Hanson and Irene Whyte; and infant brothers George and John.
She is survived by children Natalie Marie (Nicholas) Hromiko of Columbiana and Claudia Alexis Iceman of Doylestown, PA; former daughters-in-law Mary Peper and Patrique Gryvnak ; grandchildren Michael Gryvnak, Robin Val Verdi, Gregory Alexis (Laura) Hromiko, Gretchen Marie (Donald) Emch, and Jason (Lena) and Joseph Iceman; great grandchildren Joshua and Amanda Val Verdi, Hannah Marie Hromiko, Emily Ann, Molly Grace, Ryan Richard and Abbey Mae Emch and Benjamin and Sarah Iceman; sisters Catherine Molenaur, Emma Baker and Margaret Carper.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 Am at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 Portage Line Road, Mogadore OH, 44260-1521. The family will receive friends Friday 5 to 8 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. where a Parastas Service will be held at 7:30 PM.
