Obituary of Andrew Paulis

Andrew Paulis, 91, passed away on August 10, at the Essex Healthcare Center in Tallmadge. Born on November 26, 1919 to the late Michael & Mary Paulis, Andy had been a resident of Akron his entire life. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 209, and the Mogadore VFW Post 8487, where he served as the bugler in the Military Honor Guard. Andy was also a member of the Turner Club, as well as the Goodyear Hunting & Fishing Club & the Goodyear Men's Blue & Gold Club. In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his Wife Helen, brother Mike, and sisters Sue & Ann. He is survived by his sons James A. of Pensacola, FL and Robert M. (Susan) Paulis of Steamboat Spring, CO; grandchildren James, MaryRose, Jonathan (Courtney), and Heather Paulis. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, where the Mogadore VFW Post 8487 will provide full military honors.
