Obituary of Andrew Paulis
Andrew Paulis, 91, passed away on August 10, at the Essex Healthcare Center in Tallmadge.
Born on November 26, 1919 to the late Michael & Mary Paulis, Andy had been a resident of Akron his entire life. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 209, and the Mogadore VFW Post 8487, where he served as the bugler in the Military Honor Guard. Andy was also a member of the Turner Club, as well as the Goodyear Hunting & Fishing Club & the Goodyear Men's Blue & Gold Club.
In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his Wife Helen, brother Mike, and sisters Sue & Ann. He is survived by his sons James A. of Pensacola, FL and Robert M. (Susan) Paulis of Steamboat Spring, CO; grandchildren James, MaryRose, Jonathan (Courtney), and Heather Paulis.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, where the Mogadore VFW Post 8487 will provide full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mogadore VFW Post 8487 385 Randolph Road Mogadore, Ohio 44260.
