Obituary of John Csora

John Csora, 81 1/2, fell asleep in the Lord at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness on June 26, 2011. He was born on January 6, 1930. He proudly served in the United States Navy and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Airport VFW Post 8975 and served as a board member. He was also a member of the Army-Navy Post 102. He was employed by Ohio Bell for 30 years as well. John was a long time member of Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church where he served as a past parish council member. He loved to golf and go on cruises. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 40 years, Mary (nee Stoican); and his mother and father, Florence and Vasile. He leaves behind his children, Katherine (Dan) DeSantis of Uniontown, John (Jennifer) of Massillon, Nancy "Nan" Csora of Akron and Maria (Ed) Waterhouse of North Canton; grandchildren, Jonelle (Shawn) Clark, Adam and David (Caitlin) DeSantis, Jared Csora and Mary, Amy, Emily and Johnny Waterhouse; great-grandchildren, Giana Clark and Sophie DeSantis; and his little buddy, Bernie. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. in Fairlawn where John will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Dr. Ian Pac-Urar officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the church where a Saracusta service will be held at 7 p.m. Donations may be made to Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd.
