Obituary of Theodore A. Colberg
Ted Colberg, 92, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green, Ohio where he served as a church usher. Mr. Colberg was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving in the Pacific and New Guinea during World War II. He retired from the Plant Accounting Department of Ohio Edison in 1981 and loved to travel all over the world with his wife Mary Jean. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Ohio Edison Men's Club, Mobile Meals where he started the program with AARP to help with Medicare and the Weathervane Community Playhouse where he was on the set, light and stage crew and was also Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President in 1969 and 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Amanda Colberg; son, Keith; sister, Frances Jones; and brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Geraldine Colberg. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Jean; daughter, Kyle Colberg; daughters-in-law, Janie Allen and Belinda Colberg; granddaughters, Stacey Colberg and Joey (Ryan) Ridenour; and great-grandchild, McKenzie Ridenour.
Funeral service prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:40 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (at the roundabout at Steese Rd.) in Green followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The family will receive friends Monday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
