Obituary of Helen M. Clay
Helen M. Clay, 85, passed away on June 13, 2011 at Barberton Citizens
Hospital.
Born in Piney Fork, OH on July 19, 1925 to the late James& Mary
Curtis, Helen had been an Akron resident for over 60 years. She retired
from the J.C. Penney Co. after 15 years in sales, and was a member of
the J.C. Penney Retiree's Breakfast Club. For years, Helen enjoyed
meeting her friends for swimming at the Barberton Natatorium.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her
husband Robert E., son Robert D., grandson Jacob Clay, as well as 6
siblings. She is survived by her children Mark (Ruth) Clay of Fort
Wayne, IN and Carla (Ronald) Sarisky of Naples, FL; sister Mary
(Stanley) Krulcik; grandchildren Elizabeth (Jason) Olsen& Matthew
Sarisky, Michael& Kimberly Clay, and Daniel, James (Amanda), Rebecca,
William (Ashlie), Catherine, Emily, Margaret, Madeline, Matthew, and
Abigail Clay; great-grandchildren James, Joshua, Nolan Clay, and Stella
Grace Olsen, who will be born in September.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony
Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. William Smith on
Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Barberton.
Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in
Rittman. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Justin T. Rogers
Care Center of VNS Hospice 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Copley, OH 44333.
