Obituary of Rita V. Longan-Litzke

Rita V. Longan-Litzke, 31, beloved daughter of John and Becky (Sear) Longan, passed away May 18, 2011 in Philadelphia, Pa. after a courageous 6 month battle with cancer. In addition to her parents, she leaves her loving husband, John E. Litzke, Jr.; dear brother and sister-in-law, Joe (Brooke) Longan; grandmother, Virginia M. Longan; devoted in-laws, John and Joan Litzke and many other cherished relatives and friends throughout the states. Rita was born in Akron and graduated from Manchester High School in 1998. Shortly after receiving her BA at Westminster College in 2002, she joined DeSales Service Works and headed for Philadelphia to work with inner city youth. Rita was employed by Arkema Inc. for the past five years as a Senior Executive Administrator and enjoyed her co-workers. She was a Certified Massage Therapist and her passion was to help others heal through the Integrative Body/Mind Therapies. The family extends their gratitude for the love and support graciously offered by so many. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011, 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
