Obituary of Lily Mary Deme
Lily M. Deme (Palumbo), 90, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at her home.
Lily was born December 11, 1921 in Belleville, Texas to John and Blanche (Gonzales) Palumbo and had been an Akron resident most of her life. After her graduation from Garfield High School, she worked for a short time during WWII. She married the love of her life George Deme, Jr.
In addition to her parents, Lily was preceded in death by her brother Clement Palumbo and sister Dorothy Urban. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, George; daughter Cassie (Angelo) Fortunato; son George (Carol) Deme III; special niece Marina of Utah; grandchildren Andrea (James) Rhodes, Vincent (Beth) Fortunato, Angelo (Christal) Fortunato, Robert Deme and Andrew (Leslie) Salloum; great grandchildren Dominic and and Vincent Rhodes, Anthony and Angelo Fortunato and Max Panker.

Lily was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She had many creative artistic talents, loved being with family and taking trips with her husband, her AARP friends, Thelma Thomas, Dena Cucozzo and her Palumbo cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4 to 7 Pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads, entrance off Steese). Funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 Am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
