Obituary of Joseph Moran

On June 2, 2011, Joe Moran, 74, was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Pete & Amelia Moran; in-laws Tony & Hazel Perri, sister Gloria Gaskill, nephew Danny Cistone & great-niece & goddaughter Toree Poder who greeted her Uncle with a Sloppy Joe. Joe was born on December 3, 1936. Here to treasure his memory are his wife of 51 years JoAnn Moran; daughters Kristine & Kathy; his pride & joy—grandchildren Reyna & Joseph P.; sisters Dolores & John Bauer; Sally & John Cistone; sisters- & brothers-in-law Sandra & Jerry Green; Toni Marie Perri; Ed Gaskill. Joe also has numerous nieces, nephews & cousins who love him dearly. Joe graduated from Central High School in 1955. In 1996, he retired after 42 years of service with ODOT & has since enjoyed working in his yard & washing his cars. He was an avid St. V's football fan & regularly attended their games with his family. He enjoyed his Saturday morning breakfast buddies especially his long-time friend Mark Markarian. He loved teasing all of the kids in the family & they all loved it! Joe would help his family or friends at a drop of a hat. We have all lost a man that we love dearly. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Akron Children's Hospital 1 Perkins Square Akron, OH 44308 or to the Cardiac Care Unit at Akron General Medical Center 400 Wabash Ave. Akron, OH 44307. Joe was a casual guy & loved his St. V's attire...please feel free to come in yours.
