Obituary of Henry Hyung Kun Kim

Henry Hyung Kun Kim, MD, 86, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at his home. Henry was born November 13, 1924 in North Korea and fled to S. Korea as a teenager. He studied, became a physician and surgeon, served in the S. Korean Navy and emigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Massillon, Ohio. He practiced internal medicine at Massillon State Hospital and retired in 1999 after 50 years in the practice of medicine. He was a member of St. Andrew Korean Catholic Church. Dr. Kim is survived by his wife of 26 years Jong Rye; children Kathy Micheli of Richmond, Va. and Donald (Victoria) Kim, MD of New Haven, Connecticut; grandchildren David Micheli, Jude Kim and Mia and Max Quenby. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandy Kim Quenby. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 11:00 Am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Rev. Fr. Chang Soo Paul O officiating.
