Obituary of Evelyn May Probert

Evelyn May (Bittner) Probert, 93, of Tallmadge passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 10th at her home with family by her side. Born in Akron April 20, 1918 she lived in Green, Cuyahoga Falls, and Tallmadge. A homemaker for most of her life, Evelyn enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, birthdays, Christmas and vacations. Throughout her life she was a kind, generous, caring person who always put her family and others' needs before her own. She had a deep admiration for the beauty of nature and all living creatures and shared that with her four children from a very early age. In 1975 she and her late husband became the managers of Whispering Heights Condominiums in Cuyahoga Falls for 18 years and continued living there until 2008 when she moved to Tallmadge. Evelyn took great pride in the fact that she had been a faithful member of the Firestone Park Christian Church for 70 years. Mrs. Probert was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and William Bittner, husband Kenneth and son William. She is survived by sister, Wilma Batman of Lady Lake, Florida; sons Daniel Probert (Bob Hoskins) of Cuyahoga Falls, David (Sharon) Probert of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter Susan (Roger) Reynolds of Akron; daughter-in-law Barbara Probert of North Canton; grandchildren Randall, Kimberly and Bill Probert, Amanda and Alex (Caitlin) Reynolds and Tiffany (Nick) Labay; great-grandchildren Mark, Michael and Sara Probert. The family would especially like to thank mother's friend and neighbor Carole Douglas as well as Hospice of Senior Independence and Northeast Professional Home Care for all of their kind assistance which helped the family through this difficult time. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Pastor Rich Farris officiating. Private interment at Northampton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. If desired, donations may be made to Firestone Park Christian Church, 40 E.
