Obituary of Philip Scott Hudak
Philip Scott Hudak, of Lakewood, passed away May 5, 2011 from complications of pneumonia and the H1N1 flu with his family by his side at Holy Family Hospice in Parma.
He was born Feb. 23, 1978 and grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and North Akron. Phil graduated from North High School and received a degree in Biology from the University of Akron. He was continuing his education in computer engineering.
Currently employed at Bank of America, Phil was also a talented photographer and the designer of Phil's Fractals. Phil had many passions, including traveling, cooking, enjoying nature, computers, flying kites, and spending time with family and friends.
Phil was dearly loved. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kerin A. (Welch) Hudak; parents, Victor C. and Carol L. (Peters) Hudak; brother, Brian (Kacy) Hudak; sister, Andrea (Leland) Meyer; grandparents, Steve and Wanda Hudak and Bob and Ruth Peters; in-laws, Lawrence and Lenora Welch, Larry, Evan, and Meaghan Welch; many aunts and uncles; cousins; and friends. Phil will be especially missed by his nieces and nephews, Kamrin, Owynn, Lillian, Emma, and Nathan. Phil was cherished by all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
Wake services will take place on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL (at 3rd st., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Maurice Emelu on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the computer lab at North High School c/o the Akron Board of Education, 70 N. Broadway St., Akron, OH 44308; or at or First Merit Bank (under Phil Hudak).
