Obituary of Stan Jankowski
Stan "J." Jankowski, 74, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at his home.
He was born in Akron and was a baker for Nickles Bakery in Navarre, Ohio retiring 12 years ago. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Bakers Union Local 19 and the Jednota Club of Akron. He also loved golfing, fishing and bowling.
He was preceded in death by parents, Alexander and Anna Jankowski; son, Todd; and daughter, Cathy. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Chrissy (Mouse); daughter, Holly (Terry) Walsh; grandchildren, Hannah Luyster, Hailey Walsh and Spencer Luyster; sister, Gloria Jankowski; step-son, Jamie Harker; step-daughter, Gina Bowles; step-grandchildren, Paul Nagel, Kevin Reid and Aaron and Brandon Bowles; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and he will also be missed by his lifelong friends, John Adams, Mike Roe and Mike Goffi.
Funeral service prayers will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Fr. Michael Williamson celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home where a Rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
