Obituary of Garland Lee Monk
Garland Lee Monk, 79, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 30.
Born in Peninsula, OH on April 29, 1931 to the late Bill and Margaret Monk, Garland had been a lifetime area resident. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. he served his country as a member of the US Army proceeding WWII. He retired from Roadway as a long distance truck driver. Garland enjoyed being a truck driver, his family, and loved meeting his buddies at the Village Restaurant for breakfast most mornings.
In addition to his parents, Garland was preceded in death by his daughter Jennie Gaglione and brothers Bill & Ronald. he is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maria; daughter Fran Yahner of Stow; grandchildren Joe Yahner of Stow, Natalie (Brian) Strnad of Silver Lake, and Dominic Gaglione of Parma; sisters Barbara Stutler and Lillian (Junior) Raeger, as well as many nieces & nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A Committal of Ashes with full military honors will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
