Obituary of Joseph Louis Lamarr

AKRON - Joseph L. Lamarr, 83, departed this life Monday, March 21, 2011 and joins his beloved wife, of 61 years, Helen who passed away just one week ago. Joe was born March 19, 1928 to George and Agnes (Kemlage) Lamarr in Akron. He was an Akron resident for most of his life and lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Las Vegas before returning to Akron. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was currently a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Joe was employed by BF Goodrich Tire and Rubber Co. over 28 years retiring in 1970. He was a veteran of the US Marines and served during WWII. Joe is survived by his brother-in-law, Andrew Kmetz of Kent; many cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Joe's family is grateful to the caregivers of Hospice of Summa for their loving, gentle and attentive care of both Joe and Helen. The family will receive friends Thursday 9 to 10 AM at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
