Obituary of Joseph Orihel

GREEN - Joseph Orihel, 80, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home. Joe was born October 18, 2011 to Joseph A. and Mary (Barno) Orihel in Akron and had been an Akron area resident his entire life. Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting, fishing and playing cards. More than anything, he enjoyed telling a good joke or story. He was a longtime member of . In 1960, he and friend Roger Judy founded Akron Hardware Consultants - a small local business that grew in to a national company that redefined wholesale distribution in the hardware industry. Akron Hardware continues to thrive today and is forever grateful for the vision and leadership that Joe provided. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rita. He is survived by his children Kenneth (Patricia), Thomas R. (Jodi and Diane Orihel all of Green; grandchildren Christine, Laura, Joseph, Kimberly and Robert Orihel; and his brother Thomas in Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends Sunday 4 to 8 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Green Chapel, 4178 Massillon Road (on the roundabout at Massillon and Steese Rds. in Green, entrance off Steese Road).
