Obituary of Barbara Ellen Sandy

Barbara Sandy (Granny), 62, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Barb was born July 12, 1948 to Charles and Luella (Hinkle) Zickefoose in Clarksburg, W VA and came to Akron in 1968. She was a member Lakeview Lighthouse. Her favorite pastime was 4 wheeling - anytime and anywhere. In addition to her parents Barb is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ron; children Katherine Sandy, Melissa (Robert) Errington and Matthew (Amy) Sandy; grandchildren Christina Sandy, Jessica and Dustin Moneypenny, Robert, Joseph and Steven Errington, Melonie Sandy and Mya and Marchae Phillips; siblings Susan Nutter and Charles Zickefoose Jr. and nieces Kristi (Jimbo) Childers, Amanda Nutter and Beth (Matt) Wright as well as other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 Am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St.. Rev. Dwayne Ray officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 Pm and Friday 10 am until time of services. Donations may be made to the Lakeview Lighthouse or the American Cancer Society.
