Obituary of Joseph Keblesh

Joseph Keblesh Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Akron General Medical Center. Born in Barnesboro, PA on January 16, 1923 to the late John & Anna (Polyacek) Keblesh, Joe had been an Akron resident since 1941. He was a truck driver for Motor Express, Inc., retiring in 1985 after 45 years of service. He was a longtime member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Greek Catholic Union, Retired Teamsters, Akron Metropolitan Hiking Club and was a long time former Boy Scout Troop Leader. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Linda Keblesh, 3 infant sons, 3 grandchildren, & one great-grandchild; sisters Julie Keblesh, Anna Harkenish, Mary & Helen Keblesh, Verna Oravetz, Margaret Tabatcher, Katherine Keblesh, and Evelyn Miller. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Mary; children Rev. Joseph Keblesh of Sylvania, John of Omaha, NE, James (Patti) of Hartville, Timothy (Brenda) of Akron, Thomas (Barbara) of Ravenna Ruth Ellen (Tony) Zuchowski of Manchester, Anthony of Morris, IL, Mary Margaret Keblesh of Akron; brothers George (Irene) of Akron, and John (Patricia) of Mogadore; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-kERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ralph Colletta on Thursday, 12:00 pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
