Obituary of John A. Bellack
John A. Bellack, 87, fell asleep in the Lord on February 9, 2011.
'Dedo' was an honorable man who was kind and generous and he loved
everyone unconditionally. His quick wit and sense of humor delighted
everyone who knew him.
He was one of 15 children born to Andrew and Helen Bellack on
February 14, 1923 in Johnstown, PA. He served in the Navy during WWII
in the South Pacific aboard the destroyer USS Stockham. He married the
love of his life Helen (Vanchoff) in Johnstown and they moved to Akron
in 1946. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Jan. 27,
2011. He was a man of deep faith and was a member of St. Nicholas
Orthodox Church.
John is survived by his loving wife Helen, son Theodore (Rita)
Bellack, daughter Elaine (Gary) Ramnytz; grandchildren Rachel (Jim)
Griffith, Angela Canterbury, Lara (Dr. Rohit) Chandurkar, Jonathan
(fiance Mary Clare Harlan) Bellack, Nicholas (Alexis) Bellack;
great-grandchildren Drew, Jade, Jacob, Ethan, and Angelina Griffith,
Devin and Bryan Canterbury and newborn Sagar Theodore Rohit Chandurkar.
The family will receive friends TODAY from 5-8 pm at the Anthony
Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron,
where a Parastas will take place at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will
take place on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in
Mogadore, where John will lie in state for one hour prior to the
service. Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Interment will follow at
St. Nicholas Cemetery. memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas
Orthodox Church 755 S. Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, OH 44260.
With the saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Thy servant John
where sickness and sorrow are no more, neither sighing, but life
everlasting.
