Obituary of Helen Bruno

Helen Bruno (nee Zahir, Zahirsky) Helen Bruno, 90, passed away on Monday February 7, 2011. Helen was born in Akron on March 11, 1920. She was baptized and married at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church and was a longtime member of Firestone Park Lutheran Church and St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church of Akron. Helen was employed at Goodyear until 1954 and worked in marketing research until her retirement. Preceded in death by her husband Steve, she is survived by her daughters Carol of Gaithersburg, MD, Janet of Fairlawn, and Diane (Jon) Ackley of Wildwood, MO; grandchildren Thomas and Julie Ackley and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church 282 W. Bowery St. Akron, OH 44307, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
