Obituary of Lydia Marie West-Trace

-GREEN Lydia Marie West-Trace, 66, lost her battle with multiple myeloma, and was welcomed by God on November 14, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. Born in Germany on April 3, 1946, Lydia moved to the United States when she was 3 years old, and had been an area resident ever since. Lydia was a 1964 graduate of Garfield High School and graduated from the Akron General Nursing School. She worked as a nurse for over 42 years, most recently for the Magnolia Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Akron. Lydia enjoyed traveling, especially to the Outer Banks, as well as photography, motorcycles, dancing and gardening. Earlier hobbies included cycling and running, proudly completing the Columbus Marathon in 1982. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents Mykola & Maria Iwanyszczuk. She is survived by her husband Robert Trace of Green; daughters Jennifer (Jeff) Leslie of Akron, Emily (William) Kobbs of Canton, & Suzanna West of Clinton; grandson Michael Kobbs; former husband Frank West of Akron & sister-in-law Terri L. (Vicki Barkan) West of CA. The family will receive friends on Sun. from 4-6 pm & on Mon. from 9:00-9:30 am at the Anthony Funeral Home GREEN CHAPEL 4178 Massillon Rd. in Green. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 am and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron,OH 44333.
