Obituary of Gladys Marie Campano

Gladys Marie Campano, 84, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 with her family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Gladys was born February 24, 1926 to Lawrence and Catherine (Clemens) Yommer in Akron and had been an Akron resident her entire life. She was employed by Nickles Bakery for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Life Spring Christian Church Of AkronLife Spring Christian Church. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 1976; daughter Judy in 1986 and sister Mildred Trubey; and is survived by her children Steve (Missie) Campano, Janice (Tim) Frost and Joanne Porter. Her grandchildren Tara Porter and Jeff and Cory Campano were the light of her life. She also leaves sisters Alice Ellesin, Pearl Spencer and Ann Chirum. We are grateful to Beth Malboeuf and the staff of Pebble Creek for the tender care provided to our mother. Grandma got her wings and went to Heaven. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 11:00am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. The family will receive friends Monday 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
