Obituary of Marguerite Ann Anop
Marguerite Anop, 95, passed away November 10, 2012, leaving a legacy of gentleness.
Marguerite was born in Akron to Carl & Louise Wiese on August 8, 1917. After high school, she worked briefly as "Rosie the Riveter" at Goodyear where she met her husband, Ivan Anop. Together, Marguerite and Ivan created a lifetime of joyful memories for family and friends.
With quiet strength, Marguerite showed us the importance of taking care of one another and always finding something to smile about. She enjoyed creating art of all kinds, travel, music, Scrabble, gardening and spending time with her family. We will miss her wit, creative energy, her fabulous paper dolls, her stories, her (sometimes devilish) grin and her unwavering support for her children and grandchildren.
Marguerite is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan.
She is survived by her son, William (Peg) Anop; daughter, Louise (Richard Jr.) Yori, both of whom she was so proud; sister, Mae (Paul) Turchin; five grandchildren Monica Peritt, Rich Yori, Jeff Anop, Stephanie McCarthy and Katie Skerrett ; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Ivy Chapel followed by a Memorial service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 815 Carroll St., Akron, OH 44305.
