Obituary of Helen Pribanick
Helen Pribanick
"We will never Forget You"
Helen Pribanick was born January 16, 1918 and was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She is now and always has been an angel. Anyone who met Helen will attest to that.
Helen will be sadly missed by her loving husband Matt as they shared 57 plus years together. He held her hand for many hours the past few months. Helen loved her children dearly and was the best mother. She leaves her daughter Illona Aleman (Dan); son Mathew Pribanick Jr. (Pam); daughter Monica Hill (Jon). She leaves one brother Joe Mazalin (Bernie) and many nieces and nephews. Helen's grandchildren were her pride and joy: Brian, Sonya, Matti, Milan, and Miranda. A special acknowledgement to "all of her children" she adopted from the BFG Federal Credit Union. She was preceded in death by her parents: Sophie and Joe Mazalin. Sisters: Lil and Mary; her uncles Julius and Paul and special niece Linda Nagy.
Helen retired after 58 years from the BF Goodrich Co. She loved going to work every day and enjoyed the many long lasting friendships she developed there over the years, especially her friend whom she loved, Russie Jackson.
She was a very dynamic and an amazing lady who loved people and had endless energy. She enjoyed to make people laugh and smile and did this often. She was so generous with her time doing things for others. She was tireless when it came to doing random acts of kindness for many people all her life. It gave her joy to bring joy to others.
Helen loved to cook! When walking into her house, you enjoyed the aromas of authentic Hungarian food. There was always something in the oven or on the stove. She made the BEST stuffed cabbage rolls, homemade soup, kolach, cookies and many other specialty foods. She made her homemade "carrot soup" for everyone that had a cold and we always felt better.
Helen was active until the age of 91, coordinating the annual Goodrich retirees luncheon for many years and made 'goodie' bags for each attendee to take home. She enjoyed her Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale and spending time in Illona's classrooms passing out more 'goodie' bags to each child. They all called her Grandma. She loved doing food shows with Pam and was tireless at the Fabulous Food Show for years. She enjoyed people of all ages!
Caring for Helen the past several months has been a blessing filled with loving and memorable for her husband Matt, her son Mathew Jr., daughter-in law Pam, grandchildren Matti Joe, Milan and daughter Illona. We especially thank to Dr. Diane Minich and Hospice of Visiting Nurse. Thank you Mary, Laura, Sherrie, Janice, and Brian - you became her friends over the past 4 months. You were all a blessing to our family.
Well done "Good and Faithful Servant Helen". There is a void in our family today but we have so many memories of you: wonderful Wife, amazing mother, tireless grandmother and dearest friend. We love you so much and we will never forget you.
The family will receive friends Monday 3 to 7 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
