Obituary of Antonette DiNicola
Antonette Carmela DiNicola, 88, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2010.
Antonette was born in Akron on January 9, 1922.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Margaret Semise, and her beloved husband of 36 years, Ralph. Antonette is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Pamela of Green, Michael and Peggi of Green, Joseph and Jodi of Norcross, Georgia, Guy and Thomas, both of Green; her grandchildren, Michael (Jenny), Nicholas (Kathleen), Deanne (Bret) Lutz, Laura (Justin Wilkerson), John (Valerie Metzger), and Adam; great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Matthew, Zoey, Colin, Adriana and Gia; sister, Angeline Zimbardi; her many nieces and nephews and their families.
Antonette was proud of her service as a ``Rosie the Riveter' during the Second World War, helping build Corsair fighter planes at the Goodyear Airdock. In 1963, she and her sister founded Guiseppe's Pizza which she co-owned for many years prior to establishing DiNicola's Pizza with her husband in 1982. She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, and a founding member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Antonette enjoyed traveling, as well as cooking, making ceramics and crocheting afghans for her family and friends, who were all the loves of her life.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Anthony & Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road in Green (corner of Steese and Massillon in Green: entrance on Steese Rd). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Queen of Heaven Church in Green, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home
