Obituary of Mary Codian

Mary Codian, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012. She was born in Akron and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Mary was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Firestone Park Seniors. She was our beloved family matriarch who always kept our family together. She was a typical loving Italian who enjoyed bingo, casinos, gardening and baking Pizzelles, Cookies and Pizza. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy and Rosy Codian, Vera (Joe) DiSpina, Antoinette (Angelo) LaMonica, Grace (Al) Orlando and Yolanda Stillo. She is survived by her brothers, Lou (Marge) and Mike Codian; brother-in-law, Dominic (Donna) Stillo; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral service prayers will begin SATURDAY, 10:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends TONIGHT, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 433 Mission Dr. Akron, Ohio 44301.
