Obituary of Lutica Szuity
Lutica Szuity, 96, fell asleep in the Lord Sunday, October 31, 2010.
She was born in Campeni, Romania and came to the United States and Akron in 1923. She retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in 1976 after 39 years of service. She was a member of Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church and Ladies Auxiliary. Special thank you to the staff at Gaslight Villa, Affinity Medical Center and Cindy Strouse for all of their care and support.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph; and is survived by Godchildren, Pat and Rick Long and their family, Robert and JoAnn Popp and their family and Cheryl Popp; and special friends, Jean and Danny Derreberry.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. in Fairlawn where Lutica will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Fr. George Treff officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends TONIGHT, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where a Saracusta service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333.
