Robert John Copinski
Robert J. Copinski, 52 years old, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 13, 2010 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 7, 1957 to the late Barbara Wisberger and John G. Copinski and preceded in death by brother, John E, Copinski.
Robert graduated from Ellet High School in 1977 and attended Akron University. He was employeed at the Holiday Inn for 10 years and Ohio Fabricators for 20 years as an office manager. Robert was involved with the Playhouse Partners in Cleveland for several years and enjoyed decorating for the annual Jump Back Ball. He was a master chef in his own right, filling the house on Christmas morning with the smells of his home cooking; especially his famous apple pie. His passion was his many travels to New York City to attend Broadway shows, tour museums, stroll through Central Park and the annual Chocolate Show.
He is survived by sister, Julie Couchman; nieces, Kayla and Jenna Couchman (we love you Uncle Rubert); and Cassi Copinski. Aunt, Kathy Stafford and Great Aunt, Julie Semon and dear friends, Diana, Mark, Teresa, Robin and Jerry.
Robert touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Friends and family may call Sunday, October 17th at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main Street in Akron from 3:00-6:00 PM with a short prayer service at 5:45 PM. There will be no burial services as cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
