Obituary of Victor J. Zverloff

Victor J. Zverloff, 84, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010. He was born in Akron and attended South High School. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving during World War II and retired from Firestone/Bridgestone Tire and Rubber Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of St. John, National Guard, Firestone VFW, URW, former member and usher at St. Bernard Catholic Church, and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid gunsmith, rifle enthusiast, master machinist and craftsman. He also enjoyed woodworking and loved cats. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Catherine (Keberle) Zverloff; wife, Eleanor (Takacs); son, Victor, Jr.; brother, John; and sister, Mary Davis. He is survived by his son, John L. Zverloff, Sr.; daughter, Rosemary Zverloff; sisters, Kathleen Prodon and Loretta (Jack) Lent; and grandsons, John L. (Melissa) Zverloff, Jr. and Samuel Aaron (Tiffany) Zverloff. Funeral service will be held Monday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
