Obituary of Christina Muschkat
Christina Muschkat, 86, passed away September 22, 2010 with her loving family at her side.
A lifelong resident of Akron, Christina was born to Alex and Christina Luxeder on March 28, 1924. She attended St. Paul Catholic School and graduated from Garfield High School. Chris was employed at O'Neil's, St. Francis de Sales, and worked several other jobs throughout her life, but her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Chris enjoyed cooking, baking, and volunteering her services for many organizations including, Girl Scouts, the Red Cross, Coventry Band Parents, Mobile Meals, NCCW, the German-American Club, Portage Lakes Grandmother's Club, teaching Sunday School and being a Church Sacristan.
Chris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry of 62 years; parents, Alex and Christina Luxeder; brothers, William and Alex Luxeder; and grandsons, Mark Blankenship and John Aigler, III. She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Barbara) Muschkat; daughters, Kathleen (Larry) Quinlan, Linda (John) Aigler, Mary (Lee) Blankenship and Rosemarie (Stuart) Reed; grandchildren, Monica, Ericka, Thomas, Lindsey, Stephen, Patrick, John, Daniel, Robb and Anne Marie; and great-grandchildren, Adriana, Madison, Logan, Thomas, Jr., Tabitha, Allison and Lily. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Richards and Summa Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. in Akron. Fr. David Bline celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd. Akron, Ohio 44319.
