Obituary of Lazar Frengou
Lazar Frengou, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on September 21, 2010.
Lazar was born in Greece on March 5, 1928. He was educated in Greece and served in the Greek Army. He immigrated to the US in 1954. He worked for many companies and retired from the Chrysler Stamping Plant with 20 years of service.
Lazar was preceded in death by his loving daughter Kathy, as well as his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Karen; grandsons Alex and Brian; sister Anne (Jack) Clement; sisters-in-law Koula (Alex) and Mary (Pascale); brother-in-law Elias (Maria), as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many wonderful cousins and friends in the US, Canada, and Greece.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Parastas will take place at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted by Fr. James Wright on Saturday at 10:00 am at the St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox Church on Cleveland-Massillon Rd. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be given either to the church or to the American Heart Association.
