Obituary of Millicent G. Gligor
Millicent "Mitzi" G. Gligor passed away at home on Friday, September 10, 2010.
Mitzi was born in Akron on October 13, 1925 to Stanley and Viola (Miller) Gligor. She graduated from Akron South High School and worked for many years for the family business, Portage Lakes IGA. After the business was sold she was employed by several employers including O'Neils and Roadway. She retired from the University of Akron after 22 years in 1986.
Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sandy Tusko and brother, Stanley "Bud" Gligor and is survived by her devoted sisters, Melana Hadinger and Maria Jones: brother-in-law Danilo Tuczakov; and sister-in-law Dorothy "Honey" Gligor. She also leaves nephews, Stanley Tuczakov, Spencer Tuczakov, and Malin Tusko; nieces Dana Miller and Paula Whetstone; many great-nephews and nieces and their families. She also leaves special friends, Jim, Ruth and Yaolai Song.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00Am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. where the family will receive friends 10:00 Am until the time of services. A memorial luncheon in the funeral home community room will follow service. A procession to Rose Hill Burial Park will take place following the luncheon.
Mitzi was devoted to her family and friends and will be greatly missed. In lieu of , flowers the family suggests donations to Akron Children's Hospital Foundation/Burn Unit, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308-1062. We are grateful to the Burn Unit at Children's for the gift of the last five years of Mitzi's life.
