Obituary of David Gordon Adams

David Gordon Adams, born November 29, 1943, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Hospice Center, with his family by his side. Preceded in death by his parents Mary R. and Paul M. Adams, he is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda; daughter Lisa (Todd) Caskey of Atlanta, GA and son Matthew (Robin) Adams; grandchildren Alexander, Mitchell, and Madelyn Adams all of Suffield; sister, Shelah (Darrell) Wetter of Akron. Dave was raised in Akron and retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.. After retirement, he worked part-time at Brookside Senior Living as a driver. He served in the Army from 1964 through 1966 and was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. Dave was a member of the Mogadore Moose Lodge #1082 and the Kent American Legion Post 496. Dave was an easygoing man who loved to laugh whether telling a joke or listening to a funny story, and we all loved him for that great smile. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being at the beach and vacationing with his family. A special thank you to Dr. Christina Rodriguez, Dr. Gregory Videtic, the nurses at the Cleveland Clinic and the staff at Hospice Center. The family will receive friends at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, on Monday, September 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the funeral home, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will take place.
