Obituary of Ellen Blazewick

Ellen Blazewick, 85, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on August 29 in Barberton. Born in Alabama on September 26, 1924 to the late John and Mary Bensko, Ellen had been an area resident since 1942. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church as well as the St. Nicholas Ladies Auxiliary and the P.L.A.V. #32. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her son Stephen in 1988; brothers John and Steve Bensko and sisters Mary Schueller, Rosalie King, and Katherine Denzinger. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Ed; son and daughter-in-law Edmund II and Miriam Blazewick; sisters Anita Frisby and Annie DeMarco; beloved grandchildren Stephen (Manu), Brian, and Kevin Blazewick. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Parastas will take place at 6:30 pm. A funeral service will be conducted by Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky on Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Donations in Ellen's memory may be made to the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
