Obituary of James E. Bales

-CUYAHOGA FALLS James Bales, 83, passed away on October 28. Born in Cuyahoga Falls on March 15, 1929 to the late Howard & Dorothy Bales, Jim had been a lifetime Cuyahoga Falls resident. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim worked in the banking industry for Akron Savings, Falls Savings, and the First National Bank of Akron. Upon retirement, He worked as a faithful and trusted employee of the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home for over 16 years. Jim was a member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, as well as the Lions Club & the former Falls Civic Music Association. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Richard. He is survived by his sister & brother-in-law Janet & Rollin Rawson of Cuyahoga Falls, as well as many nieces, nephews, & great nieces and nephews; longtime friend Bob Crithfield. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral service will take place on Friday at 12:00 pm at the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls 2253 3rd. St., where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Gail Lindsey offciating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church 2253 3rd.
