Obituary of Kenneth Paul Jay
Rootstown - K. Paul 'Blue' Jay, 57, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born to Martha (Ruman) Jay on February 15, 1953 in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He was trained as HVAC Tech and finished out his career as a self employed computer guru. He was a member of and Head Elder at St. John Lutheran Church.
Paul worked with the Portage County Soap Box Derby and was a former leader at BSA Troop 556 and a former member of the Rootstown Lions. He was know as Poppa J to the young people he mentored over the years. He loved rock music, was a DJ, a rabid Browns, Ohio State and NASCAR fan and loved a good party. He was also a Vietnam Veteran.
Paul leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 22 years, Debbie; his children Ashley and Dakota; siblings Stephanie (Douglass) Trayer of, Karen (David) Stewart, Patricia (Gary) Clark, and Cathie (Mark) Bradley; many loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 pm at the St. John Lutheran Church, where the family will again receive friends one hour prior to the service.
