Obituary of Joseph Byczkowiak
Joseph Byczkowiak went home to be with the Lord on August 13, after a long and courageous battle with many illnesses.
Born in Poland on Nov. 28, 1915, he came to the US in 1950 and became an American citizen. He retired from the Akron Equipment Co. in 1975 with 20 years of service and also owned a shoe repair business for many years in Firestone Park. Joseph was a member of the Polish American Club and the Hungarian American Club for many years, where he loved to dance.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Theresa. He is survived by his daughters Anne (Tim) Maselli, Olga (Jim) Moyer, Dorothy (Paul) Labin, and his beloved daughter and caregiver Stephanie Livers. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Crystal, Erika, and Jenna Livers, Timothy, Jeanine, and Jim (Stacey) Maselli, Adam (Mary) Labin, Angela (Matt) Bush, Tracie (John) Wilcox, Nickie Clegg, and Annemarie and Rhonda Vardon; 15 great-grandchildren.
Joseph Byczkowiak touched many lives with his love and was a true Earth Angel. He will be sadly missed by many but will live in our hearts forever
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12-1:30 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St., where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 1:30 pm. Interment is to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Summit County Human Society in Joseph's name because his love for all animals was unconditional.
